Changing the World, One Small Act at a Time
Have you ever thought “I’m just one person, who doesn’t have much power/influence. What can I do to really make a difference in this world?” Well if so, then you are like me. But I decided to not just accept that, and take action anyway, and saw how I can truly be an agent of change in this world. Come here my story of how one small act led me to take a trip to India where I was able to help free people from slavery, and how you too can truly make a difference in this world with just a little bit of action and desire. About the Speaker: A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ryan Muir has spent the last 8 years living in Shanghai, China. He has taught Mathematics from grades 5-12 and is currently working in the middle school at Concordia International School. He loves God, his family, and sports. His passion is working with students to help them enjoy math and appreciate its power, as well as helping them work though the troubles and turmoil of being a teenager. |

Cat Service Project
When you see a stray wandering on the street, what can you do to help the little furry animal? To begin, ask yourself: "if I really want to rescue it and help in any way, I must take on this animal as a responsibility until I find it a permanent home." Unfortunately, there are no local shelters that can take in all the rescued animals from the street, so a rescue relies pretty much on individuals just like you. Not all strays are friendly enough to be adopted, but there are other alternatives. Other animal rescue projects such as TNR (trap, neuter, and release) can help control the stray animal population so they do not end up having an unfortunate demise. Be a good sport and be an angel to these furry animals. About the Speakers: Various cat rescuers ranging from students to adults |
