Power of Grit and Self-Control

Duckworth studies grit and self-control, two attributes critical to success and well-being. Her first book, Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, debuted in 2016 as a New York Times bestseller. 
Angela will talk about how Grit and Self-Control can make great difference in the world of leadership.

Leading amidst Conflict


Jer Swigart has experience working on overcoming divides and international disputes. Between working with tribes of northern Pakistan to the slums of India, the violence of Israel and Palestine and the racial injustices in his community he has encountered many different challenges.
As a consultant, speakers and co-author of Mending the Divides Creative Love in a Conflicted World (IVP, 2017) he will take you through the steps he uses to work through such conflict and the work he does to teach emerging leaders about such strategies.
​ Jer will walk you through the Leader's Journey to show you how he has arrived at this very personalized work that he feels passionate about.​

Carla will share stories of incredible women worldwide who have had to overcome major obstacles in their lives because of their gender.
She has worked extensively in India, Sierra Leone and Uganda to open hearts and minds to the importance of gender equity to the overall quality of life in the country.
Weather looking at unequal distribution of leadership roles in developed countries like Canada or advocating for young girls to be allowed to attend primary school in Sierra Leone.
​Carla is committed to highlighting women globally as the key change we need to make in the next 5 years. Come and discover how to lead change through supporting women and girls worldwide.

Inspiring Others by Inspiring Yourself


Chris will share his stories of using a positive and creative mindset to overcome personal obstacles and get the most out of one's life.
He has made a name for himself as a farmer, athlete, adventurer and international speakers and against the odds doing things that push the limits in his message of "If I can."
Chris will talk about the experience of having the opportunity to be a keynote for Google. Apple, TedX and of how sharing that story to audiences all around the work inspires others but also continues to push himself.
​Chris will use the Leader's Journey to talk specifically about highlighting things about himself that have put him on this path as a leader.

Set Apart- How to talk to adults, be remembered, and set yourself apart from your peers


When was the last time you went up and just talked to your teachers from previous years? Would they remember your name? When you are around your parent's friends, do you know how to dialogue with them? Relational and communication skills are an essential skills to be successful and a leader in the world today. Who you know will often get you further in life that what you know.
Come to this session to learn how to have good communication with adults in your life, help them remember you, and set yourself apart from your peers.
